Ask About Our Customer Rewards!

Rowen’s boarding kennel opened in 1972 to offer the individual care and personal attention we know you want your pet to have while in our hands. Our many services are designed to fit the needs of the wide variety of animals entrusted to our care. Your pet is kept in a comfortable, climate-controlled area indoors. The kennel has an air purification system. Heat, air conditioning, or air exchange is provided as the season requires.

Your pet is secure at Rowens Kennels. The owners live on-site, and the facility has security and fire alarm systems. All dogs are housed separately in indoor quarters with an adjoining outdoor run of an appropriate size for the dog.

Multiple dogs from the same household and who are compatible may be kept together. We provide beds and bedding as needed, but you may bring your dog’s bedding and toys. Older pets with difficulty getting up are supplied with a Dri-Dek surface, enabling maximum footing.

Cats are housed separately and may view the outdoors from their quarters, apart from the dog boarding area.

We use IAMS food for both dogs and cats. If you have something special you want your pet to be fed, you may bring it, and we will gladly use it.

Suppose your pet is on heartworm prevention or has a medical problem that requires medication or treatment. In that case, we ask that you provide us with directions from your veterinarian and the prescribed medication, and we will administer it as directed.

Immunizations
Dogs must have had Rabies (4 months and older), Distemper Series Leptospirosis, Bordatella, and canine flu influenza immunizations. We also recommend fecal checks within the last year. Cats must have had Rabies and FVRCP within the previous year. We also recommend the leukemia vaccine.

To ensure the health and safety of all our guests, we require that all dogs and cats boarding with us have been vaccinated by a veterinarian.

Park time
Park Time is an optional exercise time for boarded dogs. The dogs are taken outside on lead, weather permitting, or to the Training Center for personal attention by a kennel attendant. Depending on the dog’s needs, the time is spent walking, playing with a toy, petting, holding, and a treat.

Shuttle Service
We will provide transportation to and from your home and the veterinarian and kennel for boarding and grooming services.

Boarding Rates and Pen Sizes
Each pet’s boarding rate will be adjusted per pet occupying any larger pen size.
For example, if you have a ‘small’ dog and prefer a larger pen, you will pay the appropriate cost.
In other words, board rates are based on the Pen size, not your dog’s size.  (See our boarding rates below)
